Sam Genet
Sam Genet holds a Master’s degree in International Business and a CAS in Cultural Project Management. She stepped into the field of cinema in 2015 and developed her particular expertise in project management, programming, and curation. She is currently the Director of the Festival Cinémas d'Afrique Lausanne, a position she has held since 2018. In this role, she is involved in strategic planning and programming for the festival editions. She is a member of the film selection committee, a programmer, and a curator for exhibitions and the music section. She has also worked as the Communication Manager for the Ciné-Doc Association. As the General Secretary of the Grand-Bassam Project Association, she also works as the General Coordinator for the Ateliers de Grand-Bassam in Côte d'Ivoire and the Ouaga Film Lab in Burkina Faso.
Les Ateliers de Grand-Bassam
Les Ateliers de Grand-Bassam, run by the association Grand-Bassam Project, is a direct extension of Ouaga Film Lab, the first development and co-production laboratory in sub-Saharan Africa. This innovative development laboratory and residency is positioned as a unique and privileged place on the continent, dedicated to the discovery and accompaniment of authors and spaces that encourage the construction of narratives through an innovative approach in collaboration with the creative and economic worlds. They also promote encounters between established professionals and young African talent, facilitating their networking on an international scale.
