Rafael Sampaio
Rafael Sampaio is the Director of BrLab, a producer, and a founding partner of Klaxon Cultura Audiovisual. He has worked as a film programmer in cultural spaces such as the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound, the Cinemateca Brasileira, and Cine Olido, in addition to having produced and programmed numerous exhibitions and festivals. Rafael also coordinates courses and platforms for professional training, such as the Project Development Laboratories of Prodav 04 for Ancine/FSA, as well as BrLab, which he created and has directed since 2011. He produced films like Sobre Rodas (2017) by Mauro D'Addio and Diz a Ela que Me Viu Chorar (2019) by Maíra Bühler, among others.
BrLab - projects' development lab in Brazil
BrLab is an annual event for the audiovisual market, offering training through workshops and labs focusing on films in the stages of development, financing, and editing. With 14 years of experience, BrLab welcomes projects from Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, and Italy, and promotes international workshops and encounters as part of its program, including project development workshops, editing, co-production meetings, as well as activities open to the public, such as lectures and debates, held in-person and live-broadcasted online. The objective of BrLab is to contribute to the creative and economic development of the audiovisual sector by accelerating talents and projects through various initiatives, connecting professionals from different countries and stages in the audiovisual production chain.
