Natasha Craveiro
Natasha Craveiro is a Cape Verdean sociologist, producer, director, and member of the Cape Verdean National Center for Cinema and Audiovisual (NuNaC). She produced and wrote the short documentary Dona Mónicaand produced the feature film documentaries The Master’s Plan , and Omi Nobu. Omi Nobu was recently awarded the Étalon d’Or in the Documentary category at FESPACO 2023. She was an executive local producer for films such as Saudades do Futuroby Brazilian director Anna Azevedo, Black Teaby director Abderrahmane Sissako, and The Island, the new film by Polish director Pawel Pawlikowski. In addition to producing, Natasha also writes and directs. In 2022, she released her first short documentary Mama, which was selected for the Mostra Online de Cinema Internacional de São Paulo 2022. Her most recent work, the docufiction Pirinha, was pitched at KodougouDoc's Writing Residence (2021) and at Deental@Cannes (2023). In 2017, she co-founded Korikaxoru Films alongside Carlos Yuri Ceuninck.
Korikaxoro Films
Korikaxoru Films is the first Cape Verdean production company dedicated entirely to cinema. It was founded out of necessity: to secure international funding for their debut film, The Master’s Planit needed to be associated with a legally recognized production company. Since 2017, Korikaxoru Films has produced three feature films and three short films, including four documentaries, one fiction, and one hybrid. All of these works have either been screened in theaters or are scheduled for release soon.
