Marcelo Ribeiro
Professor of History and Theory of Film and Audiovisual at the Communications College of the Federal University of Bahia, where he also serves as a permanent faculty member in the Graduate Program in Contemporary Communications and Culture. He is the author of the book Do Inimaginável (Editora UFG, 2019), as well as chapters in books and articles on image, history and human rights, African cinemas, film history, archives, and decolonization. He coordinates the group “(an)arqueologias do sensível” (DGP-CNPq/UFBA).

The Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) is a public higher education institution in Brazil, regarded as the largest and most influential university in the state of Bahia and one of the most important in the country. It is a public institution maintained by the Federal Government of Brazil and affiliated with the Ministry of Education, operating under the legal regime of an autarchy. Its main campus is located in Salvador, with additional campuses in Vitória da Conquista and Camaçari.
The university is listed among the top higher education institutions in Brazil according to the Ministry of Education. In 2019, it was ranked by QS World University Rankings and the Center for World University Rankings as the third-best university in the North-Northeast region of the country.
Currently, UFBA offers 102 course options, including 94 undergraduate programs in the capital city, seven in Vitória da Conquista, and one in Camaçari.
