Milena Anjos
Milena Anjos holds a degree in Journalism and Production in Communications and Culture from the Federal University of Bahia. She is the screenwriter and producer of the web series Punho Negro, which won the award for Best Original Idea at the Rio Webfest 2018. She is also the screenwriter for the series Casa da Vó , and Eu, minha house e minha quebrada Casa da Vó and Eu, minha house e minha quebrada, produced by Wolo TV. Additionally, she wrote for the documentary series Creator Spotlight, an original production by YouTube Brazil. Milena produced the documentary Cine Rio Branco (2017) and the short film Cinco Fitas (2020). She wrote and directed the documentary Mulheres na Produção (2018) and the short film Transição (2017). From 2012 to 2014, she worked in the Communications Office of Bahia’s Audiovisual Directorate (Dimas), and from 2014 to 2023, she worked in the Cultural Promotion Department of the Gregório de Mattos Foundation, responsible for creating and implementing funding instruments. Today, she is the Audiovisual Coordinator at the Salvador Municipal Department of Culture and Tourism.
SalCine
The SalCine program provides funding to support audiovisual projects in Salvador, including films, festivals, and cineclubs. The program is divided into three sections: the first supports the production and development of audiovisual works such as feature films, short films, episodic series, music videos, and games. The second section allocates funds to independent cinema theaters in the city, offering two projects R$600,000 each to enhance the local cinema circuit. The third section focuses on fostering cineclubs, festivals, and audiovisual research while also assessing the state of the sector in Salvador.
