Em 2021, ela decidiu dirigir seu primeiro curta-metragem, <em>Astel<\/em>, que foi selecionado e premiado em v\u00e1rios festivais, incluindo o Festival de Toronto e o New Directors\/New Films do MoMa em Nova York. O filme tamb\u00e9m foi pr\u00e9-selecionado para o C\u00e9sar 2023 e ganhou o Pr\u00eamio Especial do J\u00fari e o Pr\u00eamio SACD no Festival de Curta-Metragem de Clermont-Ferrand em 2022. Dois anos depois, a diretora retornou com seu primeiro longa-metragem, <em>Banel &amp; Adama<\/em>. Filmado em l\u00edngua fulani, este conto senegal\u00eas segue um jovem casal de uma pequena vila que enfrenta as conven\u00e7\u00f5es de sua comunidade.
